|Volunteer With Us|
ASD is always looking for volunteers. We need people, big and small, old and young, silly and serious, to hide for a search dog. A very important aspect to training a search dogs is the positive reward at the end, finding a person and playing with that person is a key motivation. It is a tremendous amount of fun for you, and you get first hand experience with the training of SAR dogs.
Not only can you help by hiding for a search dog, you can help by providing a facility or piece of land to train on. We train almost anywhere in Montana. We travel many miles a year in search of good training areas and facilities, because we welcome the opportunity and value the diversity. If you have land or a building you would lend us for a short period of time, we could conduct training there. For example: private land, ponds & lakes, river front property, lumber yards, industrial parks, manufacturing buildings & plants, college campus, etc. etc.
If you have a SAR group, special task force group or other emergency service organization we would welcome the opportunity to train with you.
If you have a special skill you can offer we would greatly appreciate your help and would welcome you as a sustaining member. For example: editor, fundraising coordinator, public relations specialist, non-dog related search support, two way radio & communications, videographer, photographer, presentation designer, educator for outdoor programs, and the list goes on.....

An all volunteer group, Absaroka Search Dogs depends on teamwork. Teamwork built on the trust between a human handler and a canine search partner. This kind of trust may take years to nurture. ASD depends on cooperation between search dog teams and the rest of a SAR unit. Time spent training, and money spent on search and rescue gear, training courses, medical certification, and transportation all comes out of pocket, and from the heart. Any donations are greatly appreciated. Donate to us.
We would like to thank all of our supporters...
